A Houston Energy & Innovation Ecosystem Map
Kelsey Kearns, the director of Greentown Labs, kept asking:
“Where's our Houston Energy Map?“
The answer which kept coming back was:
“I dunno.... surely someone has made one.“
Turns out... nope.
Well, now we have! ⭐️
Kelsey gathered the data, built a spreadsheet, and I made a hand-drawn map.
But it all came together for the big reveal at the CERA Week Transition On Tap networking event.

Houston is an energy hub unlike any other that’s capable of leading the way in renewable energy and the decarbonization of our planet — something we see happening every day in our community of climatetech startups.
As GTL puts it:
“We are in a defining moment for the energy industry. Amidst rapidly growing global energy demand and changing market dynamics, the need for a clean and resilient resource supply chain has never been clearer.
“This was undeniably the focus of CERAWeek 2026 — and we are proud to support the cutting-edge innovators who are stepping up to develop, deploy, and scale market-moving solutions that will help transform industries for good.
“Thanks to Peter Durand for partnering with us to convey Houston's energy and innovation ecosystem through an incredible illustration that will stay on display at Greentown!”
