Fiber
Diane Durand's grandmother, Marquita Drolet, put a needle and thread in her hand at age eight. It wasn't until 1998, however, that Nellie Bass Durand of Knoxville, Tennesee became her mentor. Since discovering this traditional art, Alicia Diane Durand has begun to explore color and cloth in a whole new way!

Painting
Taking inspiration from folk art, early 20th century masters--Klee, Picasso, Beckman and the German Expressionists--Peter Durand's images are narrative, bright and populated by characters with a story.

Printmaking
While studying Illustration at Washington University in St. Louis School of Art, Peter Durand fell in love with the traditional methods of reproduction: woodcut, lithography, letterpress, etc. Later, on a grant from Rotary International, he had the priviledge of working in the print studios of the Polish Academy of Fine Art, Cracow.
