SUBJECT: Exploring the emerging needs of youth and technology in the region.

GOAL: To begin input to the planning process of a Youth Technology Summit to be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center

PARTICIPANTS: Your are invited to join a rotating group of diverse members of the community, representing businesses, educators, public schools, teachers, homeschoolers, parents, politicians, activists, gearheads, hackers, etc.

EVENT DESIGN: The roundtable gathers to visualize the complex interdependencies involved with preparing our schools and children for the technological demands of this century.

Topics include:

  • History of technology in education
  • Involvement of businesses, school, families, communities and the government
  • Access: bridging the digital divide
  • Security: online and physical
  • Hardware, software, shareware and maintenance
  • Training and facilitation of students, staff, administrators and parents

FORMAT: Open conversation and lunch with graphic facilitation and web journal archive. All content emerging from the lunch will be made available to the participants, the press, and the public domain.
