Beijing's 798 Art Zone
To see that the Chinese don't always take themselves, their culture or their history too seriously, check out the wacky sculptures of this huge site of a former factory, the 798 Art Zone.
Every artist seems to have one thing in common: a mash-up or cultural language and contemporary imagery. Maoist imagery mixed with Warhol love of the icon, but through an asian Jeffrey Coombs filter. (Lots of irony and nudity.)
